Mariam Alfarra

Experience

Mrs. Alfarra is the Vice Principal for Arabic, Islamic and Cultural Studies at VFA Qatar. Mariam has a QTS and Diploma in Teaching and learning from the UK and over 11 years teaching experience, she is the Founding Head of Arabic, Islamic and Qatar History Department at VFA Qatar. She has been involved in a wide range of teaching and management roles, both in the UK and Qatar. This includes extensive teaching experience of Arabic and Quranic Arabic at multiple UK schools working with native and non-native speakers of Arabic across multiple age groups and served as Arabic GCSE examiner for over 5 years.

Education

I gained a qualified Teaching Status (QTS) from The TES institute in the UK, a Teaching and Learning Level 3 Diploma from Trafford College, UK and a BSC degree from Al-Aqsa University, Palestine.

About Mariam

I am a native speaker of Arabic with a wealth of experience in teaching, learning and management. Throughout my career, I worked passionately and consistently to perfect my teaching and communication skills, and to inspire both children and adult learners to take an interest in the Arab world and its culture. I am a passionate leader and always have the best interest of my students, staff and colleagues at the heart of what I do.
