Dear Parents,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. As we embark on a new academic year, we wanted to take a moment to inform you about an important assessment tool that will be utilized to track your child’s academic progress – the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing.

MAP testing is an innovative and adaptive assessment conducted by our educational institution, VFAQ,  to understand your child’s individual growth and achievement in various subject areas. It provides us with valuable insights into their strengths, areas for improvement, and overall academic development. By administering this test, we can tailor curriculum instruction and support to meet the specific needs of each student, ensuring they receive a well-rounded education. Although this is not a graded exam this is a very important test that is designed to show what skills your child has mastered and which skills they may need further to help them learn.

One of the key advantages of MAP testing is its adaptability. Unlike traditional standardized tests, MAP adjusts the difficulty level of questions based on your child’s responses. This feature allows for a more accurate and comprehensive evaluation of their abilities. Moreover, since the test is computer-based, it eliminates any potential bias and provides a fair and consistent assessment for all students. Map will also be taken three times a year (Fall, winter, and spring) to track each students growth over the school year.

The MAP test covers essential subjects such as mathematics, reading, and language usage. It evaluates not only what your child knows but also their potential for growth. This growth measure is especially valuable as it allows us to monitor progress over time and compare it to national norms. By doing so, we can identify areas where your child may need additional support or enrichment, and develop appropriate strategies to help them reach their full potential.

We understand that testing can sometimes be stressful for students, but we want to assure you that the MAP assessment is designed to be a positive experience. It is essential for parents and educators to work together to create a supportive environment that encourages students to give their best effort. We kindly request that you encourage your child to approach the test with a positive mindset, emphasizing that their performance is not solely indicative of their abilities, but rather a valuable tool to guide their academic journey.

Following the completion of the MAP testing, you will receive a detailed report that outlines your child’s performance and growth. This report will provide valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement, helping you to better understand their academic trajectory. We encourage you to review the report carefully and discuss it with your child’s teachers, as it can serve as a foundation for productive conversations about their education.

At our institution, we firmly believe in the power of collaboration between parents, students, and educators in fostering academic success. We hope that you will join us in embracing the MAP testing as a means to support your child’s growth and development. Together, we can provide them with the tools they need to thrive academically.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to a successful year ahead!

Warm regards,
